April 21. 1998 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting Of the City Council on ~Tuesday, April 21, 1998, there <br />were present: <br /> <br /> *Mayor James W. Holley II1, *Vice Mayor Johnny M. Ciemons, Bernard D. <br />Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, James T. Martin, *P. Ward Robinett, City Manager <br />Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />98 - 90 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Council Chamber, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, <br />1998, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />98 - 91 - The following item was discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Proposed Operating Budget <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to go into Executive <br />Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to <br />discuss or consider the following matters: <br /> <br />Discussion of personnel matters involving individual employees of <br />the City, as permitted by Subsection (A)(1}. <br /> <br /> Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, pur-su~nt to Section <br />2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council <br />Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the <br />City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by <br />which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or <br />considered in the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared by: <br /> <br />Debbie K.
