April 27, 1965 <br /> <br />On motion m~ceived as information. <br /> <br /> 65-121 - Mr. Knight presented the following resolution which {he Council adopted <br />by a rising vote: <br /> <br /> '~fHEREAS, Almighty God has seen fit to call unto Himself Damon M. Tatem to share <br />in the boys of eternal life; and <br /> ~HEREAS, at ~he time of his death Damon M. Tatem was serving as the Vice-Chairman <br />of the Portsmouth Planning Commission and had served asa member of that body since 1960 with a deep sense of <br />dedication to the purpose that Portsmouth should develop in a way that would, be most beneficial to all concerned; <br />and <br /> ~/HEREAS, the community has suffered a great loss in the untimely passing of ' <br />Damon M. Tatem and has joined with his family and friends in mourning his death. <br /> NO~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, <br />that the sympathy of this body, ac~ng for the citizens of thls City, be and hereby is extended to the family of the <br />late Damon M. Tatem. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of the <br />Council and that a copy thereof be forwarded hy the City Clerk to the family of the deceased." <br /> <br /> 6S-122 - Mr. Dillon inquired regarding his previous suggestion regarding increase <br /> in salaries of retired City employees. <br /> <br />The City Manager stated that the matter had been referred to the actuaries. <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />Approved <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
