Ma_._.~_1998 387 <br />98-120 Items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />· Councilman Martin spoke on the closing of the Children's Museum during <br /> the summer. <br /> <br />· Councilman Benn spoke on the Endeavour departing on May 13, 1998 at <br /> 1:30 p.m. <br /> <br />98-121 Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Helen Persons, 1314 Green Street, spoke on lead contamination at <br /> Washington Park and an E-911 call. <br /> <br />2. J. Brewer Moore, 308 Bobby Jones Drive, spoke on term limitations for <br /> members of City Council. <br /> <br />= <br /> <br />Raleigh Harsley, 2124 Peach Street, spoke on clean up of Gosport Auto; <br />Bob's Tire and Auto has hundreds of tires dumped on property; and, tall <br />grass at Frederick Boulevard and Portsmouth Boulevard. <br /> <br />William Copeland, 2107 Staunton Avenue, acknowledged that sidewalks <br />have been installed as previously requested, and spoke on contaminated <br />material being dumped in the Prentis Park area. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into Executive Session <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, for discussion or <br />consideration of the following: <br /> <br />1. Discussion of the performance of specific public officers, appointees or <br /> employees of the City, as permitted by Subsection (A)(1). <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 <br />of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge <br />during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br /> Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Only public' b~Jsin~ess matters tawfuily exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public badness matters as were identified in the motion by <br />which the ExecutiYe Session was convened, wereheard, discussed or <br />considered in the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 10:45 p~m. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared bY: <br /> <br />Debbie K.
