<br /> 67-585 - "I submit the attached resolution and recommend its' adoption. This apppints viewers for
<br />the closing of a portion of Clifford Street and a Dortion of Griffin Street. This cl~ing has
<br />been requested by Construction Associates and has been approved hy the Planning Commis§~on."
<br />
<br /> On motion of Mr. Leery, the following resolution was adopted, without dissenting vote:.
<br />
<br /> 'q~ERBAS, Construction Associates, Inc., has made application to vacate and close that portion
<br />of Clifford Street lying between the western right of way l~ne of Loudon Avenue as the same existed
<br />prior to its closing and a point 30 feet w~st ~hereof and that portion of Griffin Street lying between
<br />the western right-of way line of Loudon Avenue as the same existed prior to its closing and a point
<br />30 feet west thereof, and it appearing that notice of the application and request for the appointment
<br />of viewers was duly posted on December 15, 1967, on the bulletin board of the COurt-of Hustings for
<br />the City of Portsmouth, on the bulletin board of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, and
<br />on the bulletin board of the Municipal Court of the City of Portsmouth.
<br /> NOW, THERBFORB,.BE IT RESOLVBD by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that
<br />L. A. Clark, Frank N. Bilisoly, Louis Leitner, John B. Scott and James V. McGehee be ~opointed
<br />viewers to view said streets and report to this council in writing whether in their o~in~on any,
<br />and if any, what inconvenience would result from vacatingand closing the aforementioned Darts of
<br />Clifford Street and Griffin Street." ~

<br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes to ~efer the matter of street closures to the City Attorney for his recommendations
<br />as to some method of procedure to follow in the future, was adopted, without dissenting vote.
