,~sy 28~ 1968 <br /> <br /> I have written the City Manager to reouest his coooeration in arranging access to the building for our <br />architectural historian." <br /> <br />On motion of Mr. Hastes, it was received as information. <br /> <br />68-184 - The following letter from Mrs, David D. Green was read: <br /> <br /> herewith, tender my resignation as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Portsmouth Public Library <br />~qCaMti~h~t~h~ Council appoin~ someone to ~ill my unexpired term as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> Having served as a Trustee even prior to the time the Library became a part of the City's operation, it <br />is past time someone else had the nleasure of serving in this capacity. Further, my he~th is now a handican <br />in rendering the type of service the Library and City deserve from Broad members. <br /> <br /> I wish to thank the Council for ~e opportunity and privilege of being a member of the Board of the <br />Portsmouth Public Li~%7~%~ My interest in the welfare of Portsmouth and its Libr~yywill continue." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes to accept the resignation with regret and that a letter be sent Mrs. Green thanking <br />her for services on the Board, and that the matter of appointing someone to the Board to fill the vacancy, <br />be referred to a conference of the Council, was adopted, without dissenting vote. <br /> <br /> 68-185 - Mr. Smith stated that he had numerous calls from residents in the West Park View section that <br />the odors coming from Scotts' Creek were very objectionable and that a yellow stubstance had formed on the <br />edge of the creek. <br /> <br /> .The City Manager stated that the Public Works Bepartment had been investigating and trying to correct <br />the condition. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Eastes that the City Manager investigate and report back to the Council was adopted, <br />without dissenting vote. <br /> <br />On motion adjourned. <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br /> President <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
