4.6-8 October 21. 1998 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Wednesday, October 21, 1998, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley III Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffi_n, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. 98-242 The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 21, 1998, for the purpose of an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconeed by Mr. Pitts, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, for the following: 1. Discussion or consideration of the condition, acquisition or use of real property for a public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted by Subsection (A)(3). The property in question is in the downtown area of the City in the Crawford Redevelopment District. .Motion was aclopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information AcT, and Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unammous vote. On motion, meeting adjourned at 8:54 p.m. APPROVED- Dr. James'W. Holley III -- Mayor City Clerk Councilman J. Thomas Berm, III was absent.
