<br /> 70-517 - "I submit the attached resolution and recommend its adoption. This amends the Crawford Urban
<br />Renewal Project Va. R-S3. This amends the project with reference to Parcel 15 located on County Street and
<br />Parcel 16 at Court and Columbia Streets.
<br />
<br /> This amendment has been requested by ihe Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority as they have a
<br />purchaser for Parcel 15 on County Street and two purchasers for portions of Parcel 16 at Court and Columbia
<br />Streets."

<br />On motion of Mr. Smith (I) the following resolution ~as adopted and by the following vote:

<br />"RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, APPROVING THE REDEVELOPMENT
<br />PLAN ~S AU~NDED BY ~BND[~ENT NO. 4, CRAWFORD URBAN RENEWAL PR(IIECT, VA. R-S3
<br />
<br /> ~EREAS, by resolution adopted August 9, 1967, the Council of the City of Portsmouth~approved az RedevelopT
<br />ment Plan for the Crawford Urban Renewal Project, designated as Project VA R-55; and
<br />
<br /> ~EREAS, in accordance with Section F~of the said Plan, it so provides that said Redevelopment Plan may
<br />be amended by the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority with the consent of the City Council; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority in undertaking the executinn of the Project
<br />No. VA R-55 has found it necessary, to make minor changes to s~id Redevelopment Plan; and
<br />
<br /> ~HE~AS, the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has approved the changes to the Redevelopment
<br />Plan by ResolDtion, which Plan dated November, 1970, together with said Resolution, has been referred to City
<br />Council for review and approval, and the City Council has duly considered said Redevelonment Plan;
<br />
<br />NOW, ~{EREFORE, BE IT RBSOLI~ED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORTS~0UTH, VIRGINIA:
<br />
<br /> 1. That said Redevelopment Plan, as amended, dated November, 1970, for the ~roject aforementioned,
<br />having been duly reviewed and considered, is hereby approved.
<br />
<br /> 2. That the City Clerk be and is hereby directed to file said copy of said Redevelopment Plan with the
<br />minutes of this meeting."

<br /> 70-518 - "Bids were received on October 2, 1970 for the sale of surolus City-owned property consisting
<br />of one lot at the corner of Hill Avenue and Cleveland Street. One bid was received in the amoun~ of $750
<br />from Irvin Caplan.
<br />
<br /> Bids were also received on November 18, 1970 for the sale of surplus City-owned property consisting of
<br />six lots located at Hill Avenue and Carolina Avenue. One bid was received in the amount of $18,000 from
<br />Robert W. Foley.
<br />
<br />I recommend that the property be sold to the above two bidders."

<br /> Motion of Mr. Johnson to concur in the recommendation of the City Manager was adopted, without dissenting
<br />vote.
<br />
<br />- UNFINISHED BUSINESS -

<br />70-485 - The following ordinance, approved on first reading at last meeting, was taken up and read:

<br />"~ ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $10,000.00 FROM THE LM~ LIBRARY FUND FOR SALARIES AND FURNISHINGS
<br />FOR THE LAW LIBRARY."

<br />2-SS PERTAINING TO ANNUAL LEAVE ALLOWED TO OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CI?Y."
