Janua --26_ 1999 51. 7' <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, to close the nominations, <br />and there being no further nominations, the above nominations were adopted by <br />unanimous vote. <br /> <br />99-19 -items Submitted by Council Members <br /> <br />Councilman Whitehurst recognized Bess Kropf, President of the Portsmouth Flag <br />Association· Ms. Kropf presented Mayor Holley with a resolution adopted by the <br />Portsmouth Flag Association to have Portsmouth designated as "Flag City- <br />Hampton Roads and Virginia·" <br /> <br />Councilman Benn recognized the arrival of the USS Hayler to the Norfolk Naval <br />Shipyard. <br /> <br />Mayor Holley forwarded the resolution from the Portsmouth Flag Associates to the <br />City Clerk to appear on a future agenda of the City Council. <br /> <br />Councilman Whitehurst expressed his excitement for the recent legislative bus trip <br />to Richmond to discuss Port issues with the legislators. <br /> <br /> C. M. Hermon and Effingham Street redevelopment projects.
