February_ 3. 1999 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Wednesday, FebrUary 3, 1999, there were present: *Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard Di Griffin, Sr., *Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Benn , *William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Qksman. 99 - 22 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the Cit, Manager Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 3, 1999, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the following: (1) Discussion of the performance of specific Council appointees, as permitted Dy Subsection (A)(1). Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section 2.1. 344.1 of the Code of Virginia ,-certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. On motion, meeting adjourned7:35 p.m APPROVED - Dr. James W. Pitts left at 6:37 p.m. and returned at 7:20 p.m.
