February_4,1999 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Thursday, February 4, 1999, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley III, *Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Berm III, William E. Moody, Jr., Chades B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie. 99 -23 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held at the Williamsburg Hospitality House, 415 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, Virginia, on Thursday, February 4, 1999 at 8:30 p.m. for the purpose of a City Council Retreat. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the following: (1) The performance of specific public officers, appointees or employees of the City, as permitted by Subsection (A)(1). (2)The condition, acquisition or use of real property for a public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property, as permitted bY Subsection (A)(3). (3) The protection of the privacy of individuals in personal matters not related to public business, as permitted Subsection (A)(4). (4) The investing of public funds where competition or bargaining is involved where, if made public initially, the financial interest of the City would be adversely affected, as permitted by Subsection (A)(6). Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfUlly exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. On motion, meeting adjourned at 11:25 p.m. Dr. James W. Holley II1~ Debra Y. White, CMC/AAE Mayor City Clerk *Vice Mayor Bernard D.
