February_4,1999 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Thursday, February 4, 1999, there <br />were present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, *Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, P. <br />Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Berm III, William E. Moody, Jr., Chades B. Whitehurst, <br />Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie. <br /> <br />99 -23 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held at the <br />Williamsburg Hospitality House, 415 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, Virginia, on <br />Thursday, February 4, 1999 at 8:30 p.m. for the purpose of a City Council Retreat. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Executive <br />Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or <br />consider the following: <br /> <br />(1) The performance of specific public officers, appointees or employees of the City, as <br /> permitted by Subsection (A)(1). <br /> <br />(2)The condition, acquisition or use of real property for a public purpose, or the <br /> disposition of publicly held property, as permitted bY Subsection (A)(3). <br /> <br />(3) The protection of the privacy of individuals in personal matters not related to public <br /> business, as permitted Subsection (A)(4). <br /> <br />(4) The investing of public funds where competition or bargaining is involved where, if <br /> made public initially, the financial interest of the City would be adversely affected, as <br /> permitted by Subsection (A)(6). <br /> <br />Motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section <br />2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfUlly exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br />the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered <br />in the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 11:25 p.m. <br /> <br />Dr. James W.
