"I send this letter to speak to the Council at your next meeting. This is very import-

Something new is up on the Sickle Cell test and I feel this should be ironed out also,
I feel the Council should be told just how bad things were for us at the City Park on
August 12, 1972 since none of you were there to see the Shelter' that the City found good
enough for Blacks to use. Every one who would have come under this shelter Life would have
I live in Edgefield - 5725 Craneybrook Lane (corner of Craneybrook and Summerset).

This metal building is ~pproximately 80 x 100 feet, 15 feet high, and installed on a
concrete foundation. It is actually a warehouse but is called: a construction shed,
industrial building, etc. It has been installed on two lots diagonally across the street
from me and I find it quite objectionable. It was constructed on lots zoned "R-!00",
Th~s arbitrary action by the city of a change in zoning - in fact~ if not in name - has
resulted in a decrease in the value of my property by $1000 or more. Also, to a greater or
.lesser degree all of my neighbors on the southside of Craneybrook Lane will be similarly
affected. It is estimated that this property (17 homes) is worth $500,00 or more.
