9c <br /> <br />November 21, 1972 <br /> <br />Municipal Finance Commission <br /> <br />T. Judson Wright was elected for an unexpired term, ending July 1, 1974. <br /> <br />Tidewater Virginia Development Council (Trustees-at-large) <br /> <br />Richard F. Wood and Herbert K. Bangel were elected to serve the year of 1975. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Johnson and seconded by Mr. Smith, nominations to be closed and members <br />were elected to the above Boards and Commissions, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Holley, Johnson, King, Smith, Wentz, Barnes <br />None: None <br /> <br />Motion of Mr. Holley, seconded by Mr. Johnson, meeting adjourned at 10.35P.M. <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />* "WHEREAS, in his infinite wisdom, Almighty God has called <br />who served as a member of this Council for four years, giving <br />conducting the affairs of this City and its citizens; and <br /> <br />unto him Albert C. Bartlett, <br />of his time and talents in <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, he served as a member of the Finance Commission for eight years, in a digni- <br />fied, faithful, impartial, and business like manner; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in addition to his aforesaid tenure of office, Albert C. Bartlett rendered <br />great service to this City and his fellow citizens by active and faithful participation in <br />numerous religious and civic affairs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the community has suffered a great loss in the passing of Albert C. Bartlett <br />and has joined with his family, friends and associates in mourning his death and in recogni- <br />zing the worth of his accomplisments, now <br /> <br /> THEREFORE, BE TTRESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />sympathy of this body, acting for the citizens of this City, <br />the family of the late Albert C. Bartlett. <br /> <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that the <br />be and hereby is extended to <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that~ those resolutions be spread upon the minutes of the Council <br />and that copy thereof be forwarded by the City Clerk to his wife, Mrs. Mildred Bartlett, in <br />recognition of Mr. Bartlett's respected place in this community." <br /> <br /> <br />
