May 28r 1974 <br /> <br /> 74-224 Motion of Mr. Smith and seconded by Mr. Early, that the Council meet in an <br />executive sessmon prior to ~he next regularly scheduled Council meeting for the purpose <br />of: <br /> <br />(1) Discussing appointments to Boards and Commissions; <br />(2) Discussing the disposition of City property; <br />(3) Consultation with Counsel pertaining to legal matters; <br /> <br />was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />74-225 <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, Holley, <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />The following petition <br /> <br />King, Smith, Wentz, Barnes <br /> <br />received from residents of Cradock was read: <br /> <br />"we the undersigned, residents of Cradock, taxpayers to the City of Portsmouth <br />hereby petition the City of Portsmouth for curbing and guttering for two blocks of Harris <br />Road between Nicholson Street and Reid Street. The City's plan for curbing and guttering <br />on Harris Road does not include these two blocks. However, it does include plans to curb <br />and gutter one. block of Harris Road between Alton Parkway and Bainbridge Blvd, AND THERE <br />ARE NO HOUSES OR BUILDINGS FACING EITHER SIDE OF THE STREET IN THIS BLOCK OF HARRIS ROAD. <br /> <br /> Certainly the residents between Nicholson Street and Reid Street on Harris Road <br />need this curbing more so than a block with no residents would. Signed by Ralph J. Festa. <br />27 Harris Road and others" <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. King, to suspend the rules for James R. <br />Seed, 10 Harris Road, to speak~ was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Mr. Seed spoke. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. King,and seconded by Mr. Hotley, to be referred to the City <br />for immediate help on the drainage problem; petition requested be referred to <br />and Gutte~ Brogram, was adopted by the following vote: <br /> <br />Manager <br />the Curb <br /> <br />Ayes: Early, King, Smith, Wentz, Barnes <br />Nays: Holley <br /> <br />~o. tion of Mr. Holley and seconded by Mr. Smith, the meeting adjourned at 11:00 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
