<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has found it necessary to acquire the interest hereinaft
<br />specified in and to the hereinafter described parcel of land situate in the City of Ports-
<br />mouth, Virginia, for the purpose of constructing, altering and widening Wool Avenue.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth has not
<br />herein, necessary to the project,because the
<br />to agree upon the price to be paid therefor;
<br />
<br />been able to purchase the property described

<br /> WHEREAS, advancement of the work and use of said project will be delayed unreasonably
<br />if said property is not made available as soon as possible.

<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia;

<br /> I. The City Attorney is directed to institute eminent domain proceedings against the
<br />following property situate in the City of Portsmouth, for the purpose of acquiring fee simole,
<br />title therein, together with any and all easements of access, light or amr incident to the
<br />lands of the lando~mer abutting upon said property, in accordance and pursuant to Sections
<br />2.06, 2.07 and 2.08 of the Charter of the City of Portsmouth (Chapter 471 of the Acts of
<br />Assembly of 1970, as amended), and to deposit to the credit of the Clerk of the Circuit
<br />Court of the City of Portsmouth as provided by law the sum hereinafter soecified to compensate
<br />tke-~.~,~a.-of ~the parcel of land knovm, numbered and designated as Parce~ 2 as shown on
<br />that certain plat entitled "Property To Be Conveyed To City Of Portsmouth For ,>.~t. I!erman
<br />Conservation And Development Project VAR-69,'~ dated July 25, 197S, made by Baldwin g Gregg,
<br />LTD., reference to said plat being made for a more particular description of the property.
<br />A copy of said plat is attached hereto.

<br />Name of the property owner Virginia Jones (Garrett) consent to be paid $21.00.'-

<br />471 OF THE ACTS OF ASSEMBLY, AS AMENDED, SAID PROPERTY BEING NECESSARY FOR THE
<br />CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION AND WIDENING OF WOOL AVENUE.
