<br /> 75-406 "Consideration of an ordinance to amend the City Code pertaining to the
<br />Portsmouth Emergency Medical Service Advisory Commission.
<br />
<br /> On August 12, 1975, this Council adopted an ordinance creating the Portsmouth Emergency
<br />Medical Service Advisory Commission. Such ordinance mandated that all members of the Advis-
<br />ory Commission had to be residents of the City of Portsmouth. It has been determined to be
<br />mn the best interest that this Advisory Commission consisting of iS members not mandate
<br />that they be residents of the~City. The City Manager recommends adoption.'

<br /> On.motion of Mr. east and. seconded by Mr. Elliott:, the following ordinance was adopted

<br /> "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA, 1973,
<br /> BY AMENDING SECTION 2-341 THEREOF PERTAINING TO THE PORTSMOUTH EMERGENCY
<br /> MEDICAL SERVICE ADVISORY COMMISSION."

<br /> 75-407 "Consideration of resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute whatever
<br />documents are necessary for the purchase, transfer, lease or sublease of property situated
<br />in Pinners Point for the purposes of port development.
<br />
<br /> The consultant who is completing the study on the Pinners Point area concernin~ ~and
<br />use has informed us that the 35-acre tract now owned by Portsmouth Port and Industr~a~ Com-
<br />mission will be recommended for port use and development. This tract of land is located
<br />a~jacent to current container facilities and should be developed for additional facilities
<br />as soon as funds are allocated. The City Manager recommends adoption."

<br />~nclude some specific property, was adopted by unanimous vote.

<br />as amended, was adopted by the following vote:

<br />ARE NECESSARY TO ACQUIRE, ~EASE AND SUBLF~ISE A 35 ACRE TRACT PRESENTLY
<br />~ED BY PORTSMOUTH PORT AND INDUSTRIAL AUTHORITY AND A CITY O~FNED PARCEL
<br />WEST OF THE MIDTOWN TUNNEL SITUATE IN PINNERS POINT FOR THE PURPOSE OF
<br />PORTDEVELOPMBNT,
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, The City of Portsmouth was authorized on November 3, 1970,
<br />of its citizens to issue,Eight Million, Two Hundred Thousand and 00/100
<br />Dollars of bonds for port development; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Portsmouth Port and Industrial Authority has requested
<br />Portsmouth to certain parc'els of land

<br />and a City owned parcel west of the Midtown Tunnel situate in Pinners Point for the purpose
<br />of port development."
