Davis <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Wentz presided in the absence of Mayor Richard J. Davis. <br /> <br /> J. Brewer Moore, Planning Director, was presented and summarized information from the <br />staff and Planning Commission regarding each application. <br /> <br /> 76-S10 - Public Hearing on rezoning applica.t, ions, a Planned'U{~it ~)evelopment application <br />and a proposed amendment to the Land Subdivision Code: <br /> <br /> (a) Zoning Petition Z 76-23 Petition of Alfgrd L. <br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Elli0tt, <br />on first reading, and Was a~pted by unanimous vote: <br /> <br /> "ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z 76-23" <br /> <br />Marable, Owner. <br /> <br />the following ordinance was approved <br /> <br /> City Manager suggesledthat the area Northeast of the Western ~reeway from the bridge to <br />Lake Kingman be zoned industrial and should hie referred to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Oast, the matter to be referred to the Planning <br />Commission for their consideration, was adopted by 4-1 (Holley-nay) vote. <br /> <br /> (b) Zoning Petition Z 76-24 Petition of Azalea Realty & Development Corporation <br />by President F. M. Jones. ' <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Early and seconded by Mr. Oast, to concur in the recommendation of the <br />Planning Commission, the petition was denied, and by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> (c) Zoning Petition Z 76-25 Petition of Harvey & Elizabeth S. Kneas, George M. Rose, <br />and Woodrow & Ruth F. Smith, by Attorney L. Cleaves Manning. <br /> <br /> L. Cleaves Manning, Attorney, spoke for the petitioner. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. <br />meeting in January <br /> <br />Planning <br /> <br />Oast and seconded by Mr. Early, the petition be deferred <br />(January 11, 1977), was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />PUD 76-1 Application for Ed-Mar Construction <br />Consultant for Baldwin & Gregg, Ltd. <br /> <br />Corporation, <br /> <br /> nntil the'first <br />by Joseph Preziotti, <br /> <br />The following letter from BRtdwin & Gregg, Ltd., was presented: <br /> <br /> "With reference to our Application PUD-76-1, an agenda item scheduled <br />City Council on December 6, 1976, our client has advised us they no longer <br />the matter. Section 33-S? <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Early and seconded by <br />th'e Planning~Comm~ssion, and to be approved <br />vote. <br /> <br />Mr. Elliott, to conair £n the-recpmmendation of <br />on first reading, was adopted by 4-1 (Holley-nay) <br /> <br /> 76-511 - On motion of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Early, the following resolution was <br />adopted, and by the following vote: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION CANCELLING A PUBLIC CONFERENCE SCHEDULED FOR DECemBER 13, 1976 <br />AND SCHEDULING A PUBLIC CONFERENCE TO BE HELD ON DECEMBER 22, 1976 AT ?:30 P.M. <br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council adopted Resolution No. 1976-131 scheduling a public conference <br />to be held on December 13, 1976; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, December 13, 1976 conflicted with public invitations to the City Council and <br />schedules of members of the General Assembly. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth that a public <br />conference scheduled for December iS, 1976 is cancelled. <br /> <br /> <br />
