<br />Suffolk, Virginia, Scale: 1" = 100', November 15, 1976, Rouse-Sirine Associates, Ltd., Surveyo:

<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council expresses its concern over by the City of Portsmolth.

<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council again requests the City of Suffolk to adop~
<br />community project controls which will protect the water quality of water supply reservoirs
<br />against pollution from run-off, potential hazards of contamination from faulty septic tanks
<br />and discharges from non-point sources.

<br /> BE IT EURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed to forward this resolution to
<br />the Mayor of the City of Suffolk and the State Water Control Board."

<br /> 77-5 - "Consideration of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to advertise and re-
<br />ceive bids for an ambulance service franchise for the City of Portsmouth for the period May 1,
<br />1977 through April 50, 1978.
<br />
<br /> This resolution will authorize the City Manager to prepare specifications; and, advertise
<br />for bids fhe operation of the emergency medical services currently beingoopera~ed under contra(:t
<br />which is scheduled to expire on April 50, 1977. The new contract will include operations o~ly
<br />since it is the intent of the City, with financial help from the Tidewater Emergency Medical
<br />Services, to own the ambulances as well as maintain them. The City Manager recommends adoptio] ."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Holley, the following resolution was adopted
<br /> and by the following vote:

<br /> "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR
<br /> AMBULANCE SERVICE FRANCHISE FOR THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, MAY 1, 1977 THROUGH
<br /> APRIL 50, 1978.

<br /> }g~IEREAS, the current contract for ambulance service in the City of Portsmouth expires
<br /> on April 50, 1977; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, certain changes in the manner of operation of the ambulance service franchise
<br /> have been proposed for the year 1977; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Portsmouth has expressed its concurrence in the
<br /> proposed changes in the manner of operation.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that
<br /> the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to advertise and to receive bids for the
<br /> ambulance service franchise for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, May 1, 1977 through April
<br /> 50, 1978, on such terms and subject to such minimum bid restrictions as he may deem proper."

<br /> 77-6 - "Consideration of a resolution expressing the consent of the City Council for
<br /> the vacation of a subdivision plat previously recorded as a portion of the Mount Hermon Con-
<br /> servation and Redevelopment Project.
<br />
<br /> A plat showing survey and disposition of Parcels 72 and 75 of the Mount Hermon Conserva
<br />.tion and Redevelopment Project, dated February 26, 1976, has been previously recorded in the
<br /> Circuit(;Court of the City of P6rtsmouth. It has been determined that said plat contained
<br /> errors thereon which need to be corrected. Accordingly, this resolution will authorize the
<br /> Cir~Manager to sign a written instrument declaring the aforesaid plat to be vacated according
<br /> to Section 15.1-481 of the Code of Virginia. The City Manager recommends adoption."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Elliott and seconded by Mr. Oast, the following resolution was adopted,

<br /> "A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING CONSENT OF THE COUNCIL TO THE VACATION OF THAT CERTAIN '
<br /> SUBDIVISION PLAT ENTITLED "PLAT SHOWING SURVEY OF DISPOSITION PARCELS 72 AND 75,
<br /> FOR MOUNT HERMON CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT VA. R-69, PORTSMOUTH,
<br /> VIRGINIA", DATED FEBRUARY 26, 1976, MADE BY BALDWIN AND GREGG, LTD., ENGINEERS,
<br /> SURVEYORS AND PLANNERS; PURSUANT TO SECTION 15.1-481, CODE OF VIRGINIA, 1950,
<br /> AS~AULBND~D~.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, that certain Subdivision Plat entitled, "Plat Showing Survey of Disposition
<br /> Parcels 72 and 75, Eot Mount Hermon Conservation and Redevelopment Project Va. R-69, Portsmouth,
<br /> Virginia," dated February 26, 1976, made by Baldwin and Gregg, Ltd., Engineers, Surveyors
<br /> and Planners, was approved by the City of Portsmouth and recorded by Portsmouth Redevelopment
<br /> and Housing Authority in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth,
<br /> Virginia, in Map Book 9, page 87; and
