<br />Recommendation:
<br />
<br />· Adoption of a motion to transfer $83,494 from the Grants Contingency Account to
<br />purchase a new Type I ambulance and three Lifepak 500 Automatic Defibrillators.
<br />
<br />Purpose and Need:
<br />
<br />· The Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical
<br />Services, awarded the City of Portsmouth this grant from the Rescue Squad Assistance
<br />Fund to purchase a replacement Type I ambulance and new equipment for the
<br />Emergency Medical Services department.
<br />
<br />· This purchase will enable the City to increase the dependability of the ambulance
<br />fleet and maintain emergency responses.
<br />
<br />· The purchase of Lifepak AED equipment will enable the City to stock ladder
<br />companies with life-saving "standard of care" equipment.
<br />
<br />Financial Impact:

<br />· There is a 50% match required as follows:
