<br /> BEGINNING at the northeast corner of the intersection of Raintree Lane and
<br />Southampton Arch; thence north along the east right of way line of Raintree
<br />Lane a distance of 3SO feet to the south right of way line of Rivershore Road;
<br />thence west SO feet to the west right of way line of Raintree Lane; thence south
<br />along said right of way a distance of S30 feet to the north right of way line
<br />of Southampton Arch; thence east SO feet to the east right of way line of Raintree
<br />La~e, to the point of origin."

<br /> 78-153 - "Consideration of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to advertise and
<br />receive bids for property located at 914 High Street owned by the City of Portsmouth.
<br />
<br /> This resolution will authorize the City Manager to advertise and receive bids for
<br />property at 914 High Street. Such property has been declared surplus and interest has been
<br />shown pertaining to the purchase of this property. The City Manager recommends adoption."'

<br /> On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Holley, the following resolution was adopted,
<br />and by the following vote:
<br />
<br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR
<br />CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH (914 HIGH STREET).
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth presently owns a certain parcel of property located
<br />at 914 High Street more particularly described as follows:
<br />
<br /> Ail those two certain lots,.pieces or parcels of land, with the improvements
<br />thereon, and the appurtenances thereunto belonging, situate in the City of Ports-
<br />mouth, Virginia, the said two lots of land being known, numbered and designated
<br />as Lots 8 and 9 on the plat of the property of Harry L. Alexander, recorded in
<br />the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />to which plat reference is hereby made, and the said two lots of land taken as
<br />a whole being bounded and described as follows:
<br />
<br /> Beginning at a point distant 188 feet west from the northwest intersection
<br />of High and Chestnut Streets; thence running north and parallel with Chestnut
<br />Streets 1OO feet to the southside of Wall Street; thence west along Wall Street
<br />50 feet; thence south and parallel with Chestnut Street 100 feet to the northside
<br />of High Street; thence east along the north side of High Street 50 feet to the
<br />point of beginning.

<br /> WHEREAS, the said land is no longer needed by the City of Portsmouth and it is,
<br />therefore, declared to be surplus property.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to advertise and receive bids
<br />for the hereinabove-described property on such terms and subject to such minimum bid
<br />restrictions as he may deem proper."

<br /> 78-154 - "Consideration of a resolution changing the r~gularly scheduled City Council
<br />meeting of May 23, 1978 to May 30, 1978."

<br /> On motion of Mr. Oast and seconded by ~r. Elliott, the following resolution was adopted,
<br />and by the following vote:
<br />
<br />"A RESOLUTION CHANGING THE REGULAR SCHEDULED CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MAY 23,
<br />1978 TO ~,'~Y 30, 1978 COi~ENCING AT ?:30 P. M. DAYLIGHT TIME.
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, that the regular
<br />scheduled City Council meeting of May 23, 1978 is changed to May SO, 1978 commencing
<br />at ?:30 P~ M. Eastern Daylight Time."
<br />
