Auqust 5, 1999 At a Called Meeting of the City Council (~n Thursday, August 5, 1999, there were present: *Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Berm Ill, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie. 99 -179 -The following call for the meeting was read: - "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held at the Williamsburg Hospitality House, 415 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, Virginia, on Thursday, August 5, 1999 at 9:00 p.m. for the purpose of a City Council Retreat. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the following: (1) The performance of specific public officers, appointees or employees of the City, as per paragraph 1. Motion was adopted by unammous vote. Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council, The motion was adopted by unanimous vote.
