ORDINANCE NO. 2026-52 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT LOCAL STAFF AND OPERATIONS PASS-THRU <br />FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $76,957 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT <br />OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY <br />2026 SOCIAL SERVICES FUND. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it accepts Local Staff and Operations Pass-Thru funding in the amount <br />of $76,957 from the Virginia Department of Social Services and appropriates said amount <br />in the FY 2026 Social Services Fund Budget. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Department of Social Services <br />for eligible staff and operational costs. <br />3. That, to the extent not expended, the funds shall be deemed reappropriated <br />into the Social Services Fund budget annually until expended in their entirety or recaptured <br />by the granting agency. <br />4. That a local match in the amount of $149,387 is required as a condition of <br />the funding, which match has previously been appropriated in the FY 2026 Social Services <br />Fund Budget. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2026 Social Services <br />Fund Budget are increased by $76,957. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on May 26, 2026. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
