ORDINANCE NO. 2025-04 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL AUXILIARY GRANT <br />PROGRAM FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $257,297 FROM THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID <br />AMOUNT IN THE FY 2025 SOCIAL SERVICES FUND FOR USE BY DSS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts additional Auxiliary Grant Program funding in the <br />amount of $257,297 from the Virginia Department of Social Services and appropriates <br />said amount in the FY 2025 Social Services Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by Department of Social Services to provide <br />income supplements authorized by the Program to eligible individuals. <br />3. That a local match of 20% is required as a condition of the funding, which <br />match has previously been appropriated to the FY 2025 Social Services Fund Budget. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Social Services <br />Fund are increased by $257,297. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on January 14, 2025. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
