ORDINANCE NO. 2025-115 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING LITTER PREVENTION AND RECYCLING PROGRAM <br />FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,433.33 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2026 <br />GRANTS FUND FOR USE IN CONNECTION WITH THE PORTSMOUTH LITTER <br />PREVENTION AND RECYCLING PROGRAM. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it accepts Litter Prevention and Recycling Program funds in the amount of <br />$25,433.33 from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and appropriates said funds <br />in the FY 2026 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds so appropriated shall be used in connection with the Portsmouth <br />Litter Prevention and Recycling Program and the Extended Polystyrene campaign. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2026 Grants Fund Budget are <br />increased by $25,433.33. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on <br />December 9, 2025. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
