3. A one-time pay allowance equal to 5% of the employee's current annual pay <br />rate upon meeting the following requirements: <br />• All requirements in step 1 <br />• All requirements in step 2 <br />• VDFP Environmental Crimes Certification <br />• Fire Educator 1035 Certification <br />• Fire Protection Systems Inspector Certification <br />• DHCD Advanced Fire Official Certification and maintaining all of the <br />aforementioned requirements as well as remaining in the <br />assignment. <br />Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team <br />Sworn personnel of the Police Department on the 23 -member SWAT Team as an <br />Operator, Sergeant or Lieutenant shall receive an allowance of $1250 annually for the <br />duration of the assignment. <br />Night Shift Stipend <br />Sworn police and civilian staff who are assigned and work a night shift shall receive a <br />stipend of $3120 annually ($120 per pay period) for the duration of the night shift <br />assignment. <br />Education Allowance <br />Sworn personnel in the classifications of Police Officer Trainee, Police Officer I, 11, & 111, <br />Police Sergeant, Police Lieutenant, Police Captain, Firefighter Trainee, Firefighter I, 11, & <br />III, Firefighter/Paramedic, Firefighter/Paramedic Trainee, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Lieutenant/ <br />Paramedic, Fire Captain, Fire Battalion Chief, EMS Chief, EMS Captain, EMS Lieutenant, <br />and EMS Paramedics will receive an Education Allowance in the amount of $750 per year <br />for attainment of an Associate's degree or $1250 annually for attainment of a Bachelor's <br />degree. <br />NOTE. This allowance is considered creditable compensation for purposes of computing <br />retirement under the city's Fire and Police Retirement System. <br />Self -Contained Breathing Apparatus <br />Sworn personnel in classifications of Firefighter I, II, & III, Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire <br />Lieutenant, Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic, and Fire Captain, who are certified in the repair <br />and maintenance of self-contained breathing apparatus and are designated by the Fire <br />Chief shall receive an allowance of $1,200 annually. This designation is limited to six (6) <br />persons. <br />5 <br />
