ORDINANCE NO. 2024-43 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM <br />FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $359,828.36 FROM THE US DEPARTMENT OF <br />AGRICULTURE VIA THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2024 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION TO PROVIDE SUPPER AND SNACKS <br />TO CHILDREN AFTER SCHOOL. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it accepts Child and Adult Care Food Program funding in the amount of <br />$359,828.36 from the US Department of Agriculture via the Virginia Department of Education <br />and appropriates said amount in the FY 2024 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds so appropriated shall be used by the Department of Parks and <br />Recreation to provide supper and snacks to children after school. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2024 Grants Fund Budget are <br />increased by $359,828.36. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on May <br />28, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
