"Individuals receiving Firefighter/Paramedic or Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic classification <br />pay or individuals who have been promoted after receiving Firefighter/Paramedic or Fire <br />Lieutenant/Paramedic classification pay are not eligible for the Paramedic Certification <br />allowance. <br />Fire Specialty Teams <br />Sworn personnel in the Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services who are <br />eligible to and serve on the following specialty teams as determined by the Fire Chief <br />shall receive an allowance of $1500 annually for the duration of the assignment: <br />• Hai -Mat Team <br />• Technical Rescue Team <br />• Marine Team <br />Fire Staff <br />Sworn personnel in classifications of Firefighter I, Il, & III, Firefighter Paramedic, Fire <br />Lieutenant, Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic, Fire Captain and Fire Battalion Chief, who serve <br />in a staff capacity as designated by the Fire Chief, shall receive an allowance of $1850 <br />for the duration of the assignment. <br />Fire Marshal's Office <br />The following pay incentives are provided for Firefighters, who serve in a staff capacity in <br />the Fire Marshal's Office, in addition to the pay structure in the current pay plan: <br />1. A one-time pay allowance equal to 3% of the employee's current annual pay <br />rate upon completing the initial required Virginia Fire Marshal Academy (VFMA) <br />classes which are as follows: <br />• Virginia Department of Fire Programs (VDFP) Inspector 1031 <br />• Fire Investigator 1033 <br />• Post Blast Investigations <br />• Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development <br />(DHCD) Core Education and maintaining all of the aforementioned <br />requirements and remaining in the assignment <br />2. A one-time pay allowance equal to 5% of the employee's current annual pay <br />rate upon meeting the following requirements: <br />• All requirements indicated in step 1 <br />• Basic Law Enforcement for Fire Marshal (16 -week class) <br />• DHCD Fire Prevention Inspector Designation <br />• DHCD Fire Official Designation and maintaining all of the <br />aforementioned requirements and remaining in the assignment. <br />4 <br />
