ORDINANCE NO. 2024-132 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION <br />ASSISTANCE PROGRAM EMPLOYMENT & TRAINING FUNDING IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $18,076 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL <br />SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2025 SOCIAL <br />SERVICES FUND BUDGET FOR ELIGIBLE PROGRAM USES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts additional Supplemental Nutrition Assistance <br />Program employment & training funding in the amount of $18,076 from the Virginia <br />Department of Social Services and appropriates said amount in the FY 2025 Social <br />Services Fund Budget. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Department of Social Services <br />for eligible program uses. <br />3. That, to the extent not expended, the funds shall be deemed reappropriated <br />into the Social Services Fund budget annually until expended in their entirety. <br />4. That a local match in the amount of 15.5% is required as a condition of the <br />funding, which match has previously been appropriated into the FY 2025 Social Services <br />Fund budget. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Social Services <br />Fund Budget are increased by $18,076. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 26, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
