ORDINANCE NO. 2024-119 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $250 FROM <br />THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2025 SOCIAL SERVICES FUND <br />BUDGET FOR FICTIVE KINSHIP PLACEMENTS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts funding in the amount of $250 from the Virginia <br />Department of Social Services and appropriates said amount in the FY 2025 Social <br />Services Fund Budget. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used for fictive kinship placements. <br />3. That a local match in the amount of 15.5% is required as a condition of the <br />funding, which local match has previously been appropriated in the FY 2025 Social <br />Services Fund Budget. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Social Services <br />Fund Budget are increased by $250. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 12, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
