ORDINANCE NO. 2024-117 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A STATE GENERAL FUNDS <br />APPROPRIATION GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $500,000 FROM THE <br />VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE SERVICES AND <br />APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2025 GRANTS FUND BUDGET <br />FOR USE BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR FIREARM VIOLENCE <br />INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a State General Fund Appropriation Grant in the <br />amount of $500,000 from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and <br />appropriates said amount in the FY 2025 Grants Fund Budget. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Police Department for Firearm <br />Violence Intervention and Prevention. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $500,000. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 12, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
