ORDINANCE NO. 2024-103 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AID -TO -LOCALITIES FUNDING IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $501,807 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF FIRE <br />PROGRAMS AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2025 <br />GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND <br />EMERGENCY SERVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Aid -To -Localities funding in the amount of <br />$501,807 from Virginia Department of Fire Programs and appropriates said amount in <br />the FY 2025 Grants Fund Budget. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue and <br />Emergency Services for eligible Suppression Personnel uses in accordance with the terms <br />of the funding, including community fire safety education programs, cancer prevention <br />initiatives, firefighter training, firefighter equipment, and protective clothing. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $501,807. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on October 8, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
