ORDINANCE NO. 2024-86 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING STEP -VA FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$290,558 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH <br />AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT <br />IN THE FY 2025 BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE SERVICE FUND TO <br />IMPLEMENT REQUIRED SERVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts STEP -VA funding in the amount of $290,558 from <br />the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and <br />appropriates said amount in the FY 2025 Behavioral Healthcare Service Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used to implement the nine essential services under <br />the STEP -VA initiative to reform the public health system, including case management, <br />care coordination, and psychiatric rehabilitation. <br />3. That, to the extent not expended, the funds shall be deemed reappropriated <br />into the Behavioral Healthcare Service Fund budget annually until expended by the City <br />or withdrawn by the granting entity. <br />4. That no local match is required as a condition of the funding at this time. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2025 Behavioral <br />Healthcare Service Fund Budget are increased by $290,558. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 10, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
