ORDINANCE NO. 2024-52 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL IV -E FOSTER CARE FUNDING <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500 FROM THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />SOCIAL SERVICES AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2024 <br />SOCIAL SERVICES FUND BUDGET FOR USE BY DSS TO PAY FOSTER <br />CARE COSTS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts additional IV -E foster care funding in the amount of <br />$1,500 from the Virginia Department of Social Services and appropriates said amount in <br />the FY 2024 Social Services Fund Budget. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Social Services for the <br />payment of foster care costs. <br />3. That, to the extent not expended, the funds shall be deemed reappropriated <br />into the Social Services Fund budget annually until expended by the City or withdrawn <br />by the granting entity. <br />4. That no additional local match is required as a condition of the funding. <br />5. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2024 Social Services <br />Fund Budget are increased by $1,500. <br />6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on May 28, 2024. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
