FY2024 Classiricabon 8 Pay Plan <br />APPROVED ALLOWANCES <br />The following allowances have been approved and adopted by City Council for this fiscal <br />year and will be paid to eligible employees for each pay period that they actively serve in <br />the identified role and for which they are certified, if required by their position. <br />On -call <br />Non - exempt employees who are required to be available for 24 -hour emergency service <br />and/or repair shall receive an allowance of $1,080 annually, regardless of whether they <br />are actually called out. Only non- exempt employees are eligible for this allowance. This <br />allowance is not applicable to Public Safety employees. On -call pay is not creditable <br />compensation for the purposes of computing retirement under the Virginia Retirement <br />System. <br />Clothing <br />Any sworn officer of the Fire or Police Departments who is required to wear civilian clothes <br />in the regular performance of official duties shall be paid a clothing allowance of $800 <br />annually. <br />Field Training Officers <br />Police Officers serving as Field Training Officers, as designated by the Chief of Police, <br />shall receive an allowance of $1,250 annually as approved in advance by the City <br />Manager. <br />Dispatchers and EMS Paramedics serving as Field Training Officers, as designated by <br />the Fire Chief shall receive an allowance of $1,250 annually as approved in advance by <br />the City Manager. <br />Paramedic Certification <br />Sworn personnel in the Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services, except the <br />Fire Chief and the Deputy Fire Chiefs, who have successfully obtained and maintain the <br />Paramedic Certification, are Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) sanctioned to <br />perform at this certification level, ride the ambulance as required and assigned will receive <br />annually <br />'Paramedic ... . ....... ....$1,800 <br />NOTE: This allowance will be considered creditable compensation for purposes of <br />computing retirement under the city's Fire and Police Retirement System. <br />Individuals receiving Firefighter /Paramedic or Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic classification <br />pay or individuals who have been promoted after receiving Firefighter /Paramedic or Fire <br />__ Page 3 <br />
