R -23 -29 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE GRANT OF A VARIABLE WIDTH UTILITY <br />EASEMENT TO VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY ACROSS A <br />PORTION OF TAX PARCEL 0587 -0010 AT MANOR HIGH SCHOOL. <br />WHEREAS, Portsmouth Public Schools (PPS) intends to install an electric charging <br />station for buses at the bus parking lot located at Manor High School; and <br />WHEREAS, in furtherance of the project, PPS and the Virginia Electric and Power <br />Company have requested that the City grant a variable width utility easement across a portion of <br />City -owned property having a Tax Parcel Number of 0587 -0010; and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of the easement is to allow for installation of an electric bus <br />charging station; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed the location of the requested easement and <br />determined that it will not have a negative impact on City facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the location of the requested easement is shown on Exhibit A; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia that it hereby approves and authorizes the grant of the requested easement to Virginia <br />Electric and Power Company and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute such <br />documents or instruments as may be necessary or desirable in furtherance of the intent of this <br />Resolution. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on May <br />23, 2023. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
