R -23 -22 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF A UTILITY EASEMENT <br />TWENTY FEET IN WIDTH AND ENCUMBERING APPROXIMATELY 0.198 ACRES <br />OF 1227 HOLLAND ROAD TO THE CITY OF SUFFOLK IN FURTHERANCE OF THE <br />PUMP STATION 017 FORCE MAIN EXTENSION PROJECT. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth owns various properties in Suffolk that serve as a <br />watershed to protect the City's reservoir lakes from runoff; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Suffolk is undertaking a public works project to extend a sewer <br />force main (the "Project "); and <br />WHEREAS, in furtherance of the Project, Suffolk is requesting that the City convey a <br />utility easement twenty feet in width and encumbering approximately 0. 198 acres of 1227 <br />Holland Road (Tax Parcel 34 *35), as shown on Exhibit A; and <br />WHEREAS, 1227 Holland Road is a 905 acre parcel that includes and protects Lake <br />Kilby; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Utilities has reviewed the proposed easement and <br />determined that it will have no negative impact on the City's watershed; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia that it hereby approves and authorizes the conveyance of the requested easement to the <br />City of Suffolk, and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute such documents or <br />instruments as may be necessary or desirable in furtherance of the intent of this Resolution. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on <br />April 25, 2023. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
