R-23-47 <br />A RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH'S COMMITMENT TO <br />FUND THE LOCALITY SHARE OF PROJECTS UNDER AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PROVIDING SIGNATURE <br />AUTHORITY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth is a recipient of Virginia Department of <br />Transportation funds under various grant programs for transportation -related projects; and <br />WHEREAS, the Virginia Department of Transportation requires each locality, by <br />resolution, to provide assurance of its commitment to funding its local share; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia that: <br />1. The City hereby commits to fund its local share of preliminary engineering, right- <br />of-way, and construction (as applicable) of the project[s] under agreement with the Virginia <br />Department of Transportation in accordance with the project financial documents; and <br />2. The City Manager and/or her designees are authorized to execute all agreements <br />and/or addendums for any approved projects with the Virginia Department of Transportation. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on <br />November 14, 2023. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
