-102 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AN EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM <br />GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $57,992 ADMINISTERED BY THE VIRGINIA <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND APPROPRIATING <br />SAID AMOUNT IN THE FY 2023 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF FIRE, RESCUE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts an Emergency Management Program Grant in the <br />amount of $57,992 administered by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management <br />and appropriates said amount in the FY 2023 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue and <br />Emergency Services to improve emergency and disaster preparation, response and <br />recovery. <br />3. That a local match in the amount of $57,992 is required as a condition of <br />the grant, which match will be satisfied through previously appropriated funds in the FY <br />2023 General Fund budget for the salary of the Deputy Emergency Coordinator. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2023 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $57,992. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 22, 2022. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
