2t2 71 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING ASSISTANCE TO <br />FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $286,562.34 <br />EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY AND <br />AMOUNT IN THE FY 2023 GRANTS FUND TO <br />TRAINING TO FIREFIGHTERS. <br />FIREFIGHTERS GRANT <br />FROM THE FEDERAL <br />APPROPRIATING SAID <br />PROVIDE PARAMEDIC <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts Assistance to Firefighters grant funds in the amount <br />of $286,562.34 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and appropriates said <br />amount in the FY 2023 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Fire, Rescue and <br />Emergency Services to provide paramedic training to firefighters. <br />3. That a ten percent local match in the amount of $28,656.24 is required as a <br />condition of the funding, which match has previously been appropriated as part of the <br />Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services General Fund budget. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2023 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $286,562.34. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 13, 2022. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
