R -22 -09 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 2,081 <br />SQUARE FEET OF PROPERTY HAVING AN ADDRESS OF 1227 HOLLAND ROAD <br />IN SUFFOLK AND THE GRANT OF AN ADJACENT TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION <br />EASEMENT ENCOMPASSING APPROXIMATELY 1,750 SQUARE FEET TO THE <br />CITY OF SUFFOLK IN FURTHERANCE OF A CULVERT REHABILITATION <br />PROJECT. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Suffolk has requested that the City of Portsmouth convey to it <br />approximately 2,081 square feet of property having an address of 1227 Holland Road in Suffolk; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Suffolk has further requested that the City of Portsmouth grant <br />an adjacent temporary construction easement encompassing approximately 1,750 square feet of <br />1227 Hollard Road; and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of the conveyances is to permit the City of Suffolk to complete <br />a culvert rehabilitation project; and <br />WHEREAS, the areas to be conveyed are more particularly shown on that certain Plat <br />Showing Proposed Right -of -Way and Proposed Temporary Construction Easement for the City <br />of Suffolk to be Acquired from the City of Portsmouth prepared by Precision Measurements, <br />Inc., dated January 19, 2022, and attached hereto as Exhibit A; and <br />WHEREAS, improvements to drainage help all Hampton Roads municipalities achieve <br />the goals of preventing flooding and protecting the Chesapeake Bay; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia that it hereby approves and authorizes the conveyance of the requested property <br />interests to the City of Suffolk and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute such <br />documents or instruments as may be necessary or desirable in furtherance of the intent of this <br />Resolution. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on <br />April 12, 2022. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
