ORIWA19111 2021 -23 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A SHELTER PLUS CARE GRANT IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $550,321 FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND <br />URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE FY <br />2021 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF BEHAVIORAL <br />HEALTHCARE SERVICES TO PROVIDE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO <br />CHRONICALLY HOMELESS AND AT RISK PORTSMOUTH RESIDENTS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a Shelter Plus Care grant in the amount of $550,321 <br />from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and appropriates said funds in <br />the FY 2021 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Behavioral Healthcare <br />Services to provide behavioral health and supportive services to chronically homeless and <br />at risk individuals and families who have severe mental illness, chronic substance use <br />disorders, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and /or HIV /AIDS, and are <br />in need of supportive housing or related assistance. <br />3. That the grant requires a local in -kind match in the amount of $137,580, <br />which match is being provided through services offered by the Department of Behavioral <br />Healthcare Services. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2021 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $550,321. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at an electronic <br />meeting held on April 27, 2021. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
