WHEREAS, the concerns underlying the Local Declaration, including maintaining <br />social distancing and taking other measures to limit the spread of COVID-19, remain applicable; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, based on the current status of the spread of COVID -19, the continued <br />limitations on access to public buildings, and the inherent difficulties in practicing social <br />distancing given the location and configuration of the City's regular public meeting facilities, it <br />is not advisable to cancel the Local Declaration at this time. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br />That the Local Declaration is confirmed and continued and shall remain in force <br />and effect. <br />2. That within ninety days of the adoption of this ordinance City Council shall <br />review the Local Declaration for the purpose of determining whether it should be modified, <br />continued or canceled. <br />3. That this Ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at an electronic meeting <br />held on February 23, 2021. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
