R -21 -28 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE PAYMENT OF A STIPEND TO <br />THE MEMBERS OF CERTAIN BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS. <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That each Member of the Boards and Commissions listed in this Resolution shall be paid <br />a stipend of One Hundred Dollars ($100) per regular Board meeting that he or she attends. <br />2. That the Boards and Commissions receiving the stipend shall be: <br />(A) Portsmouth Planning Commission; <br />(B) Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority; <br />(C) Economic Development Authority of the City of Portsmouth; and <br />(D) Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission. <br />3. That the stipend shall be paid from the General Fund of the City. <br />4. That the City Manager or her designee is authorized to take such actions as are necessary <br />or desirable in furtherance of the purpose of this Resolution. <br />That this Resolution shall take effect on the date of its adoption and shall not be <br />retroactive. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on September <br />28, 2021. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
