R -21 -40 <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 24, 2021 AS A <br />GENERAL HOLIDAY FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH. <br />WHEREAS, Wednesday November 24, 2021 is a partial public holiday in the <br />Commonwealth of Virginia, with offices closing at noon; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager advised City Council that she intends to provide City <br />employees with a full -day holiday on November 24, 2021 to express appreciation for their <br />service over the course of the year; and <br />WHEREAS, for employees in the Circuit Court Clerk's office to also have a full -day <br />holiday (subject to approval of the Judges of the Circuit Court), it is necessary for City Council <br />to formally establish the holiday by duly adopted Resolution; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia that Wednesday November 24, 2021 is hereby established as a full -day holiday for the <br />employees of the City of Portsmouth, including without limitation (and subject to approval of the <br />Judges of the Circuit Court) employees in the Circuit Court Clerk's Office; <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held on <br />November 23, 2021. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
