to the west right -of -way line of an alley on the formerly Seaboard <br />Coast Line Railroad property, said alley having been closed by the <br />Portsmouth City Council by Ordinance No. 1983 -8 adopted on <br />February 8, 1983, a copy of which is recorded in the Clerk's Office <br />of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, in Deed <br />Book 847, at page 359; and (ii) the northern one -half (1/2) of a <br />street sixty feet (60') in width and formerly known as Sixth Street <br />adjacent to the southern boundaries of the above lots as shown on <br />the aforesaid plat and extending from Tyre Neck Road easterly to <br />the west right -of -way line of the formerly Atlantic Coastline <br />Railroad right -of -way, said street having been closed by the <br />Norfolk County Board of Supervisors in April. 1953. by Board <br />Order recorded in Board Order Book 15, at pages 202 -203. <br />IT BEING as to the above- referenced lots. the same property <br />conveyed to William Albert Copeland and Edith Elizabeth <br />Copeland, his wife, for and during the term of their joint lives with <br />remainder to the survivor of them, by deed from Jesse Edwin <br />Cotton, Jr. and Mildred Teresa Cotton, his wife, dated April 25, <br />1949, recorded the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City <br />of Chesapeake (formerly Norfolk County), Virginia, in Deed Book <br />946, at page 67; and as to the above described closed portions of <br />the alley and former street, upon such closures, title to the southern <br />one -half (1/2) of the alley and the northern one -half (1/2) of the <br />street, title devolved to the owners of the adjacent property being <br />the lots described above. Upon the death of William Albert ZD <br />Copeland on April 22, 1996, per Edith Elizabeth Copeland's List of <br />Heirs recorded with her Will in Will File No. 070000555 in the <br />Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake <br />(formerly Norfolk County), Virginia, the aforesaid property passed <br />to Edith Elizabeth Copeland by survivorship. The said Edith <br />Elizabeth Copeland died testate September 24, 2007, and pursuant <br />to her will recorded in Will File No. 070000555 in the Clerk's <br />Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake (formerly <br />Norfolk County), Virginia, she devised the aforesaid property to <br />her son, William A. Copeland, Jr., and her daughter, Florence C. <br />Wynne. <br />TOGETHER WITH an alley twenty feet (20') in width adjacent to <br />the eastern boundary of Lot number Eighteen (18) described above <br />and extending to the west right -of -way line of the formerly <br />Atlantic Coastline Railroad right -of -way, as shown on the <br />Subdivision Plat. <br />
