ORDINAW 6 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A SUPPLEMENTAL NEXT GENERATION 9 -1- <br />1 ESINET MIGRATION GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,923.49 FROM THE <br />VIRGINIA 9 -1 -1 SERVICE BOARD AND APPROPRIATING SAID SUM IN THE <br />FY 2020 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE DEPARTMENT OF <br />INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Portsmouth was awarded a Next Generation 9 -1 -1 <br />ESINet Migration Grant in the amount of $428,737.63 by the Virginia 9 -1 -1 Service <br />Board; and <br />WHEREAS, the grant was appropriated by City Council Ordinance 2019 -52 <br />adopted on July 23, 2019; and <br />WHEREAS, the City was recently notified that the grant has been increased to <br />S430,661.12; and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of this ordinance is to appropriate the amount of the <br />increase. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a Next Generation 9 -1 -1 ESInet migration grant in <br />the amount of $1,923.49 from the Virginia 9 -1 -1 Service Board and appropriates said <br />sum in the FY 2020 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the funds shall be used by the Department of Information <br />Technology to migrate the City's 9 -1 -1 system to meet the National Emergency Number <br />Association i3 standard ESInet functionality and to maintain the system thereafter. <br />3. That no local match is required for the funds. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2020 Grants Fund <br />Budget are increased by $1,923.49. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on April 28, 2020. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
