MW W 0,.,2020-91 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE NECESSARY FUNDS TO <br />IMPLEMENT THE GENERAL FUND AND RISK MANAGEMENT FUND OF <br />THE FY 2021 PORTSMOUTH PUBLIC SCHOOLS BUDGET FOR THE <br />SECOND QUARTER OF FISCAL YEAR 2021. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. In order to provide funding for the second quarter of the Portsmouth Public <br />Schools' Fiscal Year 2021 General Fund and Risk Management Fund Operating Budgets, <br />that the sum of $45,406,191 be, and the same hereby is, appropriated as follows to fund the <br />second quarter of Fiscal Year 2021 which begins on October 1, 2020 and ends on December <br />31, 2020: <br />General Fund <br />$40,122,523 <br />_ _ _ <br />Risk Management Fund <br />5,23,66$ <br />Total $45,406,191 <br />2. All unspent appropriations under this ordinance or any ordinance <br />appropriating funds for the FY 2021 Portsmouth Public Schools budget shall lapse at the <br />end of the fiscal year, as provided under Section 22.1 -100 of the Code of Virginia. Funds <br />encumbered but unpaid by the end of the fiscal year will be deemed unspent appropriations <br />that will require re- appropriation by the City Council. <br />3. The revised budget approvals and funding appropriations for the FY 2021 <br />Portsmouth Public Schools General Fund Budget and Risk Management Fund Budget are <br />as shown on Exhibit A hereto. <br />4. This ordinance shall take effect on October 1, 2020. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at an electronic <br />meeting held on September 22, 2020. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
