OMINANCE 10 2018 -90 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $33,511 FROM <br />THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NATIONAL HIGHWAY <br />TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION THROUGH THE VIRGINIA <br />HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE <br />FY 2019 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE PORTSMOUTH POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT TO DETER DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF <br />ALCOHOL. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts a grant in the amount of $33,511 from the U.S. <br />Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration through <br />the Virginia Highway Safety Office and appropriates said funds in the FY 2019 Grants <br />Fund. <br />2. That the grant will be used by the Portsmouth Police Department for <br />education and enforcement regarding Driving Under the Influence of alcohol. <br />3. That an in -kind match of $16,756 is required as a condition of the grant, <br />which match will be met through services provided by the Portsmouth Police <br />Department. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2019 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $33,511. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on September 25, 2018. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
