0hu""INANCE ,.. -39 <br />AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AN EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER <br />NATIONAL BOARD PROGRAM GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,135 FROM <br />THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND APPROPRIATING <br />SAID FUNDS IN THE FY 2017 GRANTS FUND FOR USE BY THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO <br />PORTSMOUTH CITIZENS WHO HAVE EMERGENCY SHELTER OR <br />UTILITY NEEDS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it hereby accepts an Emergency Food and Shelter National Board <br />Program grant in the amount of $12,135 from the Department of Homeland Security and <br />appropriates said funds in the FY 2017 Grants Fund. <br />2. That the appropriation shall be used by the Department of Social Services <br />to provide assistance to Portsmouth citizens who have emergency shelter or utility needs. <br />3. That no local match is required as a condition of the grant. <br />4. That estimated revenues and expenditures in the FY 2017 Grants Fund are <br />increased by $12,135. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on May 23, 2017. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
