"T ��AC� :'o- AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REORDAIN CHAPTER 33.1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (2006) BY AMENDING SECTION 33.1 -55 REGARDING STREET NAME CHANGES, AND TO AMEND APPENDIX A OF THE CODE TO INCREASE OR ESTABLISH SUBDIVISION AND OTHER APPLICATION AND REVIEW FEES AS AUTHORIZED BY SECTION 33.1 -20 AND AMENDED SECTION 33.1 -55 AND TO CORRECT CERTAIN SECTION REFERENCES. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Chapter 33.1 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) is hereby amended and reordained by amending Section 33.1 -55 as follows: See. 33.1 -55. - Street and subdivision names. (a) Proposed streets which align with existing streets shall bear the names of the existing streets. Names of proposed streets or subdivisions shall not duplicate, irrespective of suffixes, or be similar in sound or spelling to existing street or subdivision names in the city. (b) Street names shall be indicated on the preliminary and final plat and shall be approved by the agent. (c) Names of existing streets or subdivisions shall not be changed except by approval of the governing body. That the subdivision and other application and review fees authorized under Section 33.1 -20 and amended Section 33.1 -55 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (2006) and set out in Appendix A thereof are amended and reordained and that section references in Appendix A are amended to conform to Chapter 33.1 of the Code, all as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof. 3.
