ANff 2103 <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $331,500 FROM THE <br />NON - DEPARTMENTAL, SALARY — EMPLOYEE BONUS LINE ITEM IN THE <br />FY 2018 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO THE NON - DEPARTMENTAL, <br />BENEFITS - RETIREE SUPPLEMENT LINE ITEM IN THE FY 2018 GENERAL <br />FUND BUDGET FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING A ONE -TIME <br />SUPPLEMENT IN THE GROSS AMOUNT OF $500 TO CERTAIN RETIREES <br />UNDER THE PORTSMOUTH SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND <br />THE FIRE AND POLICE RETIREMENT SYSTEM. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: <br />1. That it authorizes the transfer of $331,500 from the Non - Departmental, <br />Salary — Employee Bonus line item in the FY 2018 General Fund budget to the Non - <br />Departmental, Benefits — Retiree Supplement line item in the FY 2018 General Fund <br />budget. <br />2. That the funds so transferred shall be used to fund a one -time supplement <br />in the gross amount of $500 to retirees under the Portsmouth Supplemental Retirement <br />System and the Fire and Police Retirement System who either (1) had twenty years of <br />service with the City or (2) retired on disability. <br />3. That the Non - Departmental, Salary — Employee Bonus line item in the FY <br />2018 General Fund budget is decreased by $331,500. <br />4. That the Non - Departmental, Benefits — Retiree Supplement line item in <br />the FY 2018 General Fund budget is increased by $331,500. <br />5. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. <br />ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia at a meeting held <br />on November 28, 2017. <br />Teste: <br />City Clerk <br />
